She Had to Let Him Go, For Real

She never forgets

She gazed at the old picture of her and him that they took at some photobooth in the mall - smiling so wide that it will probably tear, hugging each other like there's no tomorrow, and the tender kisses on the forehead. She never forgets that day or every moment when she spends with him. How he looked at her eyes with so much adoration, affection. How he listened to every story she said closely without protest. How he screwed up the minute he decided to make her... his weakness. How he didn't want to let her hand go as if she was going to disappear - in fact, she was. Too many wonderful memories to be forgotten.

Too broken to be fixed

She, herself was so messed up, too broken. Too scared to get a sense of love - how to love and be loved. Yet, he never has given up. He showed her how much his love for her - that kind of unconditional love. She was gratified she ever met someone like him, someone who appreciated her, someone who showed her what love is. As things went by, with her chaotic thoughts, she felt that she didn't deserve him. Loving him is probably the most imperfect love to ever exist. She can't fully embrace him back like the way he did, but she loved him. Little did she know, she hasn't even love herself yet

Let him go

Day after day, she thought about it - always. How she wasn't good enough. How she didn't deserve it. How she would hurt him. How she was struggling with sadness in herself. She thought she can't be selfish, she had to let him go. What she didn't know was, he wanted to understand, he wanted to help her, to fix her. But she already said it, she had said goodbye. And he, being a gentleman he is, was trying to understand her and accepted it. He loved her that much it hurts. He wanted her to be happy, even without him in it. That's why a couple of tears betrayed her, she was sad. She knew that even after what she did to him, he still tried to understand. He was perfect in her eyes, too perfect to be hers. He was the light in her life that remind her to keep standing. He was her little ray of hope and she let him go. Maybe after all, it was the best decision - for fear that he might fall into her dark world.
